Since I wrote my last post, I haven’t written a thing. Yes, I’ve been busy. But that’s really no excuse.
It doesn’t take any time at all to write a few sentences a day. Sure, I was depressed and that made it difficult, but the rest of the time, I made excuses.
Between travel, extracurriculars, and my new direct-selling job, well, I’ve been busy and also, really tired. I haven’t even read as much as usual and that is upsetting.
I’m hoping to finish one book before the end of the month… so, countdown is on!
Apologies for my tardiness and laziness.
The meaning of this particular post is to tell you three little words: I appreciate you.
These three words are small but mighty. They go a long way.
Someone said them to me not too long ago and it just hit home.
A coworker actually, one who I’ve never met physically, but we’ve had a couple of virtual discussions.
She sent me a message asking for some information, and after looking into some things, I was able to provide her some answers.
All told, it took me two minutes.
She thanked me and finished with “I appreciate you.”
How kind is that?
I appreciate you.
I often say, “I appreciate that” or “Thank you, I really appreciated it.”
But until hearing it said that way, I don’t think I’d ever said “I appreciate you.”
Now I’m making it a habit to say often. To my children, who listened. I appreciate you.
To my husband, who cared. I appreciate you.
To my dogs, who cuddled. I appreciate you.
To my coworkers who smiled. I appreciate you.
To the strangers at the mall who held the door open. I appreciate you.
To you who are reading this. I appreciate you.
I really do.
Without all of those things, my life would be very lonely and quiet. I’d have my hands full of meaningless things with no happiness.
Something as simple as holding a door open for me, it’s super appreciated.
Smiling. That act of kindness makes the world brighter.
So, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
I appreciate you.
